As a family company we are grateful of having an untouched treasure: an old cocoa plantation. These 550 acres are filled with original leafy native trees, typical of the rural coast area of Ecuador, which produce the famous cocoa bean known by it´s exquisite fine flavor and great aroma that is required and demanded by the best chocolate manufacturers of the world.
The interesting part of this piece of treasure is that is has not being damage by the hand of man; it grows naturally and it production is collected carefully.
This cocoa plantation is also considered a natural reservation and a secondary forest. It maintains itself natural and permanently provides big cocoa pods which holds inside the most juicy and tasteful white nuts. After being picked they are exposing to a process of sun dry on drying floors. This practice reflects the coca farmer’s history of Cantón Balao. Just like our ancestors did in the golden age of cocoa productions we prepare those beans designated to exportation in the marketplace of Europe and United States.
Our company gets the cacao from 550 acres certified with Ecocert.
